MAXXIS Hookworm 24"/26"/29" Tire (2.5")

What is it?  When it comes to Pedicabs, the Hookworm is an industry standard. It serves as a tire that can handle city and festival terrain with durability that ensures long life. It's wire bead and thick wall repels flats from glass and other road debris. For bicycles, the Hookworm was the original Urban Assault tire. However, its versatility spans beyond that to cargo bikes, park riding, and commuting. The simple fact that this the preferred tire for pedicabs, which must carry weighs in excess of 1,000 lbs, serves as a perfect example that the Hookworm can take abuse and last a long time. 

Why we love it?  Our tire/tube setup allows us to effectively avoid flats!! Even though this tire has a width of 2.5", we recommend using this 2.00-2.40" thorn-resistant tube. The thickness of thorn-resistant tube fills the extra space. 

Pro Tip!  Pairing the Hookworm with a thorn-resistant tube dramatically reduces the occurrence of flat tires.
